English Premier League club Portsmouth have hit a snag in their efforts to sign Kaizer Chiefs defender Onismor Bhasera

The Zimbabwe international has been working with Pompey coach Paul Hart and his coaching staff for the past three months but a deal to secure his signature has not been completed as of yet.

The 23-year-old was believed to have been on a free transfer but is currently in the middle of a dispute over his deal with the Premier Soccer League club, according to Portsmouth chief executive Peter Storrie.

The Pompey head honcho told The Sun: "Onismor has a dispute with Kaizer Chiefs.

"As far as he is concerned the contract has expired but Kaizer Chiefs say there is an optional year in the contract.

"There are no figures in it, which would be null and void in this country."

If Bhasera is able to complete his move to the club, he would become the second PSL player to make the move to arguably the best league in the world this season after Kagiso Dikgacoi put pen to paper on a deal with London club Fulham.
